My 19-year old diet

Today I found this diet posted in my old live journal. I was 19 and trying to get ready for a trip to Italy.  Its a strict diet, but sounds like I know what I am talking about.  So lets try this again, 2009 style:

The new rules:
1. Water & OJ or 100% juice only--in the morning when I take my vitamins
2. No alcohol or caffine :(
3. More iron--which kind of blows as most iron enriched foods are breads
4. No eating out at all
5. More fruit
6. Less cheese--I eat a lottttt
7. More greens--spinach, lettuce, broccoli, edemame
8. Less fake-meat...which can be tasty but...eh
9. I cant go to sleep unless I workout 1st and do my homework*
10. But amazingly, I also have to get at least 7 1/2 hours of sleep a night (I average about 6 now which is probably why I constantly feel like shit. The anemia doesnt help either)
11. Less sauces, dressing, condiments of all sorts

*Note: This was copied and pasted from an old entry in 10/05. The differences now are that my homework is for grad school and I no longer have anemia.  Please support me in my life-long mission to look like a Bikini Babe.

Hello world

Its been a long time. I would tell you where I am right now, at 7:40 am on a Saturday but you wouldn't believe me. Okay, I am at all all-girls lock-in. In my defense, this is for work and I totally ruled at Rock Band earlier this morning. I am running on 3 hours of sleep so bear with me.

Lots of newness, and revamped old-ness going on in my life and I am not complaining. Thursday was one of the most social nights I have had since 1997. We had a wine-tasting Valentines day party at work, followed coffee with a volunteer, then, I attended a Twitter fund raiser called Twestival (which I have to say totally bit the big one), and finally my friends' show at Emos where I proceeded to have too many rum and cokes on too little in my belly. Any day involving wine flights AND rum is so worth it.

About
Twestival--I am not going to try and explain what it is. Leading up to it I had a lot of mixed perceptions. I hoped it would be the opposite of networking at a conference or some other akward social setting. What I really hoped was that it would be more bar-esque but with a increased pressure to socialize and people only talk in short, ironic expressions just like on Twitter. Unfortunately, it was a lot more like the first one. I did get to talk to some people I already knew would be there, including one of my future graduate professors, so that was cool. Yet the place wasn't really conducive to meeting new people and the poorly selected music was so loud that when you did find someone to chat with you had to yell. I want you to know that I am not being snobby when I say "poorly selected music" - this DJ played Date Rape by Sublime at a social networking event with lots of 40-year old men in attendance. I hope the SXSW Interactive party next week will not suck as much.

I have more to say but am having trouble organizing my thoughts at this hour.
